Osaka – Kyoto – Osaka
Today, we drive to Kyoto, the former capital of Japan, which holds priceless historical values. We will first visit Arashiyama Bamboo Grove – one of Kyoto’s top sights– for a good reason: standing amid these soaring stalks of bamboo is like being in another world. Make your way to the Kinkakuji Temple – the famed “Golden Pavilion” is Kyoto’s most iconic sight known for its two top floors covered entirely in 18–carat gold leaves. Finally, we stop at the Fushimi–Inari–Taisha Shrine, the most important shrine in the entire city, before we drive back to Osaka. (B, L, D).DAY 7
Osaka – Nara – Osaka
After breakfast, we travel to Nara, where we will go to the Todaiji Temple, the largest wooden building in Japan. The temple also houses one of the largest bronze statues of Buddha at 16.3 meters high. Nearby, explore the surrounding Deer Park, which has over 1,000 Sika Deer. After lunch, drive back to Osaka for an orientation tour. See the Osaka Castle (photo stop) and The Nishinomaru Garden. The lawn garden features around 600 cherry trees and a tea house.
